Section R. 431.4130 - Claiming; prohibitionsRule 4130.
(1) A person shall not claim his or her own horse and shall not claim a horse trained or driven by him or her.(2) A qualified owner or his or her agent shall not claim a horse for another person.(3) An owner shall not cause his or her horse to be claimed, directly or indirectly, for his or her own account.(4) A person shall not offer, or enter into an agreement, to claim or not to claim, or attempt to prevent another person from claiming, any horse in a claiming race.(5) A person shall not enter a horse against which there is a mortgage, bill of sale, or lien of any kind, unless the written consent of the holder thereof is filed with the clerk of the course and the association conducting the claiming race.(6) An entry in a claiming race which has been declared for a subsequent race, if claimed, may be withdrawn from the subsequent race without penalty.(7) A mare known to be in foal shall not be declared into a claiming race.(8) A person shall not claim more than 1 horse from any 1 race. No authorized agent shall submit more than 1 claim for the same horse in a race, even if the authorized agent represents several owners. When a stable consists of horses owned by more than 1 person and trained by the same trainer, not more than 1 claim may be entered on behalf of the stable in any 1 race.Mich. Admin. Code R. 431.4130
