Section R. 431.3105 - Entries; proceduresRule 3105.
(1) A horse shall not start in a race unless the horse has been and continues to be qualified to be entered in the race. Unless otherwise specified in the conditions of a race or disqualified by violation of these rules, a horse eligible at the time of entry shall continue to be qualified, except in an overnight race, in which it shall also be eligible at the time of start.(2) Entries, subscriptions, declarations, and scratches shall be reported to the racing secretary, who shall maintain a record of the time and receipt of such entries, subscriptions, declarations, and scratches.(3) Any entry shall be in the name of the horse's owner, as completely disclosed and registered with the racing secretary under these rules, and made by the owner, trainer, or the authorized agent of the owner.(4) Any entry shall either be in writing, by telephone, or transmitted by other electronic means as approved by the executive director.(5) An entry shall clearly designate the horse entered. When entered for the first time during a race meeting, every horse shall be designated by name, age, color, sex, sire, dam, and broodmare sire, as reflected by such horse's registration certificate.(6) An alteration shall not be made on an entry after the closing of entries, but an error may be corrected with permission of the stewards.(7) A horse shall not be entered at more than 1 race track when the races are to be conducted on the same day.(8) In naming an entry for a produce race or futurity, the produce is entered by specifying the dam and the sire or sires.(9) A horse may be entered while on the veterinarian's list if the horse will be eligible at the time of the race.Mich.
