Section R. 431.3065 - Official veterinarians; dutiesRule 3065.
(1) The official veterinarian shall examine horses the stewards request him or her to examine and reexamine. The official veterinarian is responsible for approving for release from the veterinarian's list all horses that have been placed on the list because of lameness, sickness, or injury before they may be entered to race again.(2) An official veterinarian shall not, during the period of his or her employment, for compensation or otherwise, treat or prescribe for a racing horse, except in case of emergency. In an emergency, a full and complete treatment report shall be made to the stewards. An owner or trainer shall not employ or pay compensation to an official veterinarian, either directly or indirectly, during the period for which he or she is so employed by the executive director.Mich.
