(1) Application for retirement shall be made on forms furnished by the retirement board and shall be filed with the secretary of the retirement board. A letter of inquiry relative to retirement is not an application for retirement.(2) A completed retirement application may be cancelled by the applicant if the retirement system has not processed the initial monthly payment.Mich.
