Section R. 281.143 - Violations; effect; remediesRule 13.
(1) After the effective date of these rules, a building or structure or land shall not be used or occupied, and a building or structure or part thereof shall not be erected, constructed, reconstructed, moved, or structurally altered, unless the building, structure, or land is in compliance with the provisions of these rules. A permit or variance shall not be approved, and action shall not be taken, if approval of the permit or variance or the action taken violates the provisions of these rules. The commission shall not waive any of its rights or remedies against any person who violates these rules if the violations were committed in reliance on an authorization erroneously given in violation of any provision of these rules. Any authorized permit, variance, or action that is contrary to the provisions of these rules is deemed invalid from the date of the authorization.(2) In addition to all other remedies, the commission may institute appropriate action or proceedings to prevent, restrain, correct, or abate rule violations or threatened violations.Mich.
