Section R. 338.1241 - DefinitionsRule 41. As used in this part:
(a) "Telehealth" means the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies to support or promote long-distance clinical healthcare, patient and professional health-related education, public health, or health administration. Telehealth may include, but is not limited to, telemedicine.(b) "Telehealth service" means a healthcare service that is provided through telehealth.(c) "Telemedicine" means the use of electronic media to link patients with healthcare professionals in different locations. To be considered telemedicine, the telemedicine services must be provided by a healthcare professional who is licensed, registered, or otherwise authorized to engage in his or her healthcare profession in the state where the patient is located.Mich.
