(1) Engineering controls shall be used in combination with work practice controls to minimize or eliminate employee exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material. Where exposure remains after use of engineering and work practice controls, personal protective equipment shall also be used.(2) Engineering controls shall be examined and maintained or replaced on a regular schedule to ensure their effectiveness.(3) An employer shall provide hand-washing facilities which are readily accessible to employees. When provision of hand-washing facilities is not feasible, an employer shall provide an appropriate antiseptic hand cleanser with clean cloth or paper towels or antiseptic towelettes.Mich. Admin.
