Section R. 408.16318 - Belt conveyorsRule 6318.
(1) When conveyors cross passageways or roadways, an employer shall provide a horizontal platform under the conveyor, extended out from the sides of the conveyor a distance equal to 1 1/2 times the length of the wood handled.(2) An employer shall provide the platform that shall extend the width of the road plus 2 feet (61 cm) on each side, and shall be kept free of wood and rubbish.(3) An employer shall provide the edges of the platform with toeboards or other protection that meet the requirements of General Industry Safety and Health Standard Part 2 "Walking-Working Surfaces," as referenced in R 408.16302.Mich.
