Section R. 408.15246 - Edger sawsRule 5246.
(1) An edger shall not be located in the main roll case behind the headsaw. Edger saw blades shall be guarded against unintentional contact.(2) A control device shall be installed and located so that the operator can stop the pressure feed rolls without releasing their tension.(3) An edger shall be equipped with both of the following:(a) Anti-kickback fingers designed to provide holding power for all thicknesses of material being cut.(b) Live rolls or other tailing device on the off side of the headsaw, which is so guarded that an employee cannot contact any part of the edger saw from his or her work station.Mich.
