Section R. 408.11425 - CrossoversRule 1425.
(1) A clearance of 80 inches above a floor or platform must be maintained as a means of egress. Where a conveyor reduces this clearance, a crossover, passageway, or different means of egress must be provided.(2) A crossover must be in compliance with General Industry Safety and Health Standard Part 2. "Walking-Working Surfaces," as referenced in R 408.11402.(3) A crossover that cannot clear packages or objects on the conveyor must be hinged to swing out of the way or a sensing device must be provided to stop the conveyor if the crossover has not been moved.Mich.
