Section R. 408.41976 - ControlsRule 1976.
(1) When a presence-sensing device is used as a safety device, the control shall incorporate a fail-safe feature.(2) Machine start controls shall be designed and installed or guarded to prevent unintentional activation by contact with objects or a part of the body.(3) A machine shall be provided with a stop device that is within the reach of the operator's designated position.(4) A foot control shall be provided with a cover or guard to prevent accidental activation.Mich.
