Section R. 408.41866 - Portable tanks and emergency venting

Rule 1866.

(1) A portable tank that has a capacity of 660 gallons or less of flammable liquid shall be in compliance with emergency venting and other devices, as required by chapters III, IV, and V of The National Fire Protection Association Standard NFPA 30, "Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code," 1996 edition, which is adopted by reference in R 408.41802.
(2) A portable tank that has a capacity of more than 660 gallons of flammable or combustible liquid shall have emergency venting and other devices, as required by chapters II and III of The National Fire Protection Association Standard NFPA 30, "Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code," 1996 edition, which is adopted by reference in R 408.41802.
(3) An employer shall contact the Michigan department of licensing and regulatory affairs, bureau of fire services, storage tank division, for additional rules concerning the installation, use, and storage of liquefied petroleum gases.
