Section R. 408.22234 - Pre-hearing conferenceRule 1234.
(1) Upon his or her own motion or the motion of a party, the hearing officer may request the parties or the parties' counsel to meet with the hearing officer for a conference to consider all of the following. (a) Simplification of the issues.(b) Necessity or desirability of amendments to documents for purposes of clarification, simplification, or limitation.(c) Stipulations, admissions of fact, and contents and authenticity of documents.(d) Limitation of the number of parties and of expert witnesses.(e) Other matters as may tend to expedite the disposition of the proceeding, and to assure a just conclusion to the proceeding.(2) The hearing officer shall state on the record the stipulations, agreements, and other matters agreed to by the parties at the conference.Mich.
