Section R. 550.216 - Effective date of rules; effectRule 16.
(1) These rules shall take effect on September 1, 1987.(2) All policies, group certificates, and related forms issued or renewed on or after the date upon which these rules become effective shall be in compliance with these rules.(3) Rates which exceed the new prima facie rates cannot be used on or after the effective date of these rules, except for a case for which an upward rate deviation may be placed in effect in accordance with R 550.214(3).(4) Approval of all policies, group certificates, and related forms not in compliance with these rules is hereby withdrawn upon the effective date of these rules. No such form may be issued or renewed on or after the effective date of these rules unless it has been submitted to, and approved by, the commissioner pursuant to these rules or unless an approved rider has been attached bringing such form into compliance with these rules.Mich.
