Section R. 400.10183 - Sleeping rooms and resident confinement rooms; minimum requirementsRule 183.
(1) All resident sleeping rooms and resident confinement rooms shall have a bed above floor level.(2) If not a part of the sleeping room, all of the following shall be made available to residents: (a) A toilet that is available for use 24 hours a day.(b) A washbasin and drinking water.(c) Hot and cold running water.(3) The room shall be constructed to allow for the visual supervision of the resident in the room.(4) In new and converted facilities, a single sleeping room shall not be less than 70 square feet, exclusive of closet space.(5) In new and converted facilities, a multiresident sleeping room shall not be less than 45 square feet per resident, exclusive of closet space.(6) Residents of the opposite sex who are older than 5 years of age shall not sleep in the same room.Mich.
