Section R. 330.262 - Stroke patient inter-facility transfer protocolsRule 12.
(1) All designated stroke centers shall maintain inter-facility transfer protocols for stroke patients that are consistent with regional and local medical control protocol and are compliant with 42 USC 1395dd.(2) All level IV stroke centers shall develop and implement formal policies based on published guidelines for the transfer of stroke patients who need care at a level III, level II, or level I stroke center.(3) All level III stroke centers shall develop and implement formal policies based on published guidelines for the transfer of stroke patients who need care at a level II or level I stroke center.(4) All level II stroke centers shall develop and implement formal policies based on published guidelines for the transfer of stroke patients who need care at a level I stroke center.(5) Stroke patients shall be transported to a hospital designated as a stroke center.Mich.
