Section R. 324.511 - Change of well statusRule 511.
(1) A permittee of a well who desires to change the status of a well by an oil and gas operation, including temporary abandonment or high volume hydraulic fracturing, except as allowed by R 324.704 and additional acid or other stimulation treatment, shall file an application for change of well status with the supervisor. The application shall set forth, in detail, the kind of oil and gas operation to be accomplished and the plan for protecting all oil, gas, brine, or fresh water strata the well has penetrated. In addition, an application to change the status of a well by utilizing high volume hydraulic fracturing shall include the information specified in rule 201(2)(c) of these rules. A permittee shall not begin the oil and gas operation until he or she has received approval from the supervisor or authorized representative of the supervisor and provided notification to the supervisor or authorized representative of the supervisor of the date the oil and gas operation will commence.(2) A permittee of a well who changes the status of a well shall file, with the supervisor, within 60 days, a complete change of well status record on forms prescribed by the supervisor, except that a record shall not be filed when the change of well status operation is for temporary abandonment purposes.Mich.
