Section R. 324.1014 - Suspension of OIL AND GAS operations due to threat to public health and safetyRule 1014.
(1) The supervisor or authorized representative of the supervisor shall have the authority to immediately require corrective action, including suspending any or all components of the oil and gas operations, if the oil and gas operations have been determined by the supervisor to be in violation of the provisions of the act, these rules, permit conditions, instructions, or orders of the supervisor and threatens the public health and safety.(2) A suspension of oil and gas operations shall be in effect for not more than 5 days or until the operation is in compliance and protection of the public health and safety is ensured. To extend the suspension beyond 5 days, the supervisor shall issue an emergency order to continue the suspension of oil and gas operations and may schedule a hearing under part 12 of these rules. The total duration of the suspension of oil and gas operations shall not be more than 21 days, as provided in section 61516 of the act.Mich. Admin. Code R. 324.1014
