Section R. 324.1012 - Identification of wells and surface facilitiesRule 1012.
(1) A permittee of a well shall ensure that a well is identified by a sign which is posted in a conspicuous place and which is not more than 20 feet from the well. A sign shall be durably constructed, be kept in good condition, and the lettering shall be not less than 1 1/2 inches high and legible under normal conditions at a distance of 25 feet. A sign shall show all of the following information: (b) The name of the permittee.(c) The name of the lease and well number.(d) The well location by quarter-quarter section, township, and range.(e) A telephone number by which an authorized representative of the permittee may be contacted at any time to respond to an emergency at the well.(2) A surface facility shall be identified by a sign which is posted in a conspicuous place and which is not more than 25 feet from the outside limits of the surface facility or at a location prescribed by the supervisor or authorized representative of the supervisor. A sign shall show all of the following information: (a) The name of the permittee or owner.(b) A telephone number by which an authorized representative of the permittee may be contacted at any time to respond to an emergency at the facility.(c) The location by quarter-quarter section, township, and range. If more than 1 facility is located at a common site, 1 identification sign is sufficient. A sign shall be kept in good condition and the lettering shall be not less than 1 1/2 inches high and legible under normal conditions at a distance of 25 feet.Mich. Admin. Code R. 324.1012
