(1) The following ASTM standards are adopted by reference in these rules: (a) D422-63(90), test method for particle size analysis of soils.(b) D698-91, test method for laboratory compaction characteristics of soil using standard effort.(c) D1557-91, test method for laboratory compaction characteristics of soil using modified effort.(d) D2434-68)(94), test method for determining permeability of granular soils (constant head).(e) D2922-96, test method for determining the density of soil and soil aggregate in place by nuclear methods (shallow depth).(f) D2487-93, classification of soils for engineering purposes (unified soil classification system).(g) D4318-95a, test method for liquid limit, plastic limit and plasticity index of soils.(h) D5084-90, test method for hydraulic conductivity of saturated porous materials using a flexible wall permeameter.(2) The standards listed in subrule (1)(a) to (e) and (h) of this rule are available from the American Society for Testing and Materials, Sales Service, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania 19428, at a cost as of the time of adoption of these rules of $18.00 each.
