(1) Pursuant to Rule 221, a licensee or registrant shall conduct surveys and measurements of radioactive surface contamination of facilities, equipment, and other property that may be contaminated. With regard to radioactive surface contamination, the philosophy and goal stated in Rule 201(2) may be considered presently satisfied by following the guidance in Rule 272.(2) A facility, installation, equipment, or other property shall not be assigned, sold, leased, or transferred to an unlicensed person unless the property has been decontaminated below the applicable limits specified in Rule 272.(3) The guidance in Rule 272 may be modified at the discretion of the department in any specific situation involving a specific radionuclide.Mich.
