Section R. 325.5060 - Thorium contained in aircraft engine parts

Rule 60.

A person is exempt from this part to the extent that he or she receives, possesses, uses, or transfers thorium contained in any finished aircraft engine part containing nickel-thoria alloy, if both of the following conditions are met:

(a) The thorium is dispersed in the nickel-thoria alloy in the form of finely divided thoria (thorium dioxide).

(b) The thorium content in the nickel-thoria alloy does not exceed 4% by weight.
