(1) A casing shall not be used as a suction line unless protected by a permanent outer casing.(2) For type I and type IIa public water supplies, a buried water suction line extending outside the well casing is prohibited.(3) For type IIb and type III public water supplies, a buried water suction line extending outside the well may be used if protected in a manner approved by the department.(4) Any buried pump discharge line shall be under positive pressure at all times.Mich.
