Rule 807. A well shall be located with due consideration given to the extent of the property, the contour of the land, elevation of the site, the depth to the water table, other geological characteristics, local groundwater conditions, and other factors necessary to provide a safe and reliable public water supply. A well shall meet all of the following requirements:
(a) Located so the well and its surrounding area is controlled and protected from potential sources of contamination.(b) Adequate in size, design, and development for the intended use.(c) Constructed to maintain existing natural protection against contamination of water-bearing formations and to prevent all known sources of contamination from entering the well.(d) Protected against the entry of surface water.Mich.
