Section R. 325.10604 - Radionuclides; compliance requirementsRule 604.
(1) Compliance with R 325.10603 shall be determined based on the analytical result or results obtained at each sampling point. If 1 sampling point is in violation of an MCL, then the supply is in violation of the MCL. All of the following provisions apply:(a) For supplies monitoring more than once per year, compliance with the MCL is determined by a running annual average at each sampling point. If the average of any sampling point is greater than the MCL, then the supply is out of compliance with the MCL.(b) For supplies monitoring more than once per year, if any sample result causes the running average to exceed the MCL at any sample point, then the supply is out of compliance with the MCL immediately.(c) Supplies shall include all samples taken and analyzed under this rule, R 325.10603, R 325.10725, R 325.10726, R 325.10728, R 325.10729, and R 325.10730 in determining compliance, even if that number is greater than the minimum required.(d) If a supply does not collect all required samples when compliance is based on a running annual average of quarterly samples, then compliance shall be based on the running average of the samples collected.(e) If a sample result is less than the detection limit, then zero shall be used to calculate the annual average, unless a gross alpha particle activity is being used instead of radium-226, or uranium, or both. If the gross alpha particle activity result is less than the detection limit, then half the detection limit shall be used to calculate the annual average.(2) If the department requires confirmation samples under R 325.10725(3), then the results of the initial and confirmation samples shall be averaged for use in compliance determinations.(3) The department may delete results of obvious sampling or analytic errors.(4) To determine compliance with the MCLs in R 325.10603, averages of data shall be used and shall be rounded to the same number of significant figures as the MCL for the contaminant.Mich.
