Section R. 325.2136 - Water circulationRule 36.
(1) A swimming pool owner shall equip a swimming pool for continuous, uniform circulation of treated water within the swimming pool tank and for continuous removal, treatment, and reuse of the water.(2) A swimming pool owner shall ensure that the water recirculation and treatment system is adequate for recirculating and treating the entire volume of water as follows: (a) In 6 hours or less for a swimming pool.(b) In 1 hour or less for a wading pool.(c) In 1 hour or less for a spa pool.(d) In 2 hours or less for a river ride pool.(e) In 1 hour or less for a water slide pool.(f) In 4 hours or less for a wave pool.(g) In less time than specified in subdivisions (a) to (f) of this subrule if necessary to meet the hydraulic design requirements for the surface skimmer system required by R 325.2144.(h) In less time than specified in subdivisions (a) to (f) of this subrule if necessary to remedy water quality, clarity, or other operational problems.(3) The swimming pool owner shall ensure that the entire volume of a special purpose pool is recirculated and treated at a rate acceptable to the department.Mich.
