Section R. 325.17701 - Control of solvent and solvent vapors; exhaust ventilation generally

Rule 701.

(1) Dry cleaning systems in type I, II, III, and IV dry cleaning establishments shall be installed and maintained to prevent the unnecessary escape of solvents or solvent vapors into the dry cleaning machine room and public area atmospheres and so that the vapor concentration shall not exceed the allowable concentration in these areas for those compounds as specified in R 325.51101 et seq.
(2) General mechanical exhaust ventilation shall be provided in a dry cleaning machine room to effectively control the buildup of dry cleaning solvent vapors. The exhaust ventilation system shall be designed and installed to have a minimum capacity of 1 complete change of air in the dry cleaning machine room each 5 minutes in order to control emergency spills or leaks.
