Section R. 388.273 - Duties of departmentRule 3. The department shall develop policies to be approved by the state board of education, with research-based statements, guidance, and resources on coordinated school health for school districts that includes, but are not limited to, all of the following:
(a) Assist school districts in the planning, organization, administration and evaluation of their coordinated school health initiatives.(b) Provide leadership to institutions of higher education in their development of pre-service and in-service programs to prepare teachers in health education, physical education, and coordinated school health.(c) Cooperate with universities to develop a method of evaluation of such programs to prepare teachers in health education, physical education, and coordinated school health.(d) Plan and direct statewide and regionally-centered in-service educational programs for teachers of health education and physical education.Mich.
