Section 26.02.06.01 - Definitions
A. The following terms have the meanings indicated.
B. Terms Defined.
(1) "Department" means the Department of the Environment.
(2) "Elevated levels of arsenic" means:
(a) Blood arsenic levels equal to or greater than .07 micrograms per milliliter.
(b) Urine arsenic levels equal to or greater than 100 micrograms per liter.
(3) "Elevated levels of cadmium" means:
(a) Blood cadmium levels equal to or greater than 10 micrograms per liter.
(b) Urine cadmium levels equal to or greater than 20 micrograms per liter.
(4) "Elevated levels of lead" means:
(a) Blood lead levels equal to or greater than 25 micrograms per deciliter.
(b) Urine lead levels equal to or greater than 80 micrograms per liter.
(5) "Elevated levels of mercury" means:
(a) Blood mercury levels equal to or greater than 3 micrograms per deciliter.
(b) Urine mercury levels equal to or greater than 20 micrograms per liter.
(6) "Laboratory" means a medical laboratory licensed by the State of Maryland that conducts tests for lead, mercury, arsenic, or cadmium levels in blood or urine.
(7) "Local health department" means the health department of the Maryland subdivision where the patient resides.
(8) "MOSH" means Maryland Occupational Safety and Health, Division of Labor and Industry, Department of Licensing and Regulation.
