Section 13B.08.21.05 - Student Eligibility for Renewal ApplicationsA. Subject to the State budget and a community college's annual allocation for the Scholarship Program, an applicant shall be eligible to renew a Scholarship for a subsequent year if the applicant:(1) If required by the community college, completes any institutional application form and supporting documentation;(2) Timely submits a FAFSA or MHEC OneApp, as applicable, and any other applications for State and federal non-loan aid, if the applicant was required to submit them with their initial application;(3) Continues to meet the income requirements for the Scholarship Program under Education Article, § 18-3603, Annotated Code of Maryland, and this chapter;(4) If applicable under Regulation .04 of this chapter, continues to enroll and complete at least 6 credits per semester;(5) If enrolled in credit-bearing courses, maintains a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent for the award period, unless, upon submission of satisfactory evidence, the community college finds that extenuating circumstances, as defined in this chapter, exist;(6) Makes satisfactory progress, as determined by the community college, toward the student's eligible program of study under Regulation .04 of this chapter; and(7) Continues to be eligible for in-State tuition.B. A recipient may receive a Scholarship only for the shorter of: (1) A total of 3 years, unless the community college, upon submission of satisfactory evidence, finds that extenuating circumstances, as defined in this chapter, exist that justify an interruption of study and prevent the recipient from continuous enrollment; or(2) The date that the individual is awarded an associate degree.Md.
