State of Maryland has designated the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) as the Rail Safety Oversight Agency, the agency responsible for rail transit safety oversight in the state. These regulations establish the system safety requirements for the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to comply with the provisions of the Rail Safety Oversight Program.
