Section 10.44.26.05 - Qualifications - Dental Hygienist Who Has Not Passed a Regional BoardA. To qualify for a volunteer dental hygienist's license, a dental hygienist who has not passed a regional board shall:(1) Be of good moral character;(2) Be a graduate of a school for dental hygienists that:(a) Requires at least 2 years of education in an institution of higher education;(b) Is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation; and(c) Is approved by the Board;(3) Submit a notarized affidavit or other evidence satisfactory to the Board indicating that during the 3 years preceding application the applicant has actively engaged in practicing dental hygiene for at least 150 hours;(4) Pass the Maryland Jurisprudence Examination on the Maryland State Dental Law;(5) Hold an active license to practice dental hygiene in another state or in the District of Columbia;(6) Meet the qualifications otherwise required for a general license to practice dental hygiene by Health Occupations Article, Title 4, Annotated Code of Maryland;(7) Complete the continuing education requirements for an active general license to practice dental hygiene; and(8) Provide dental hygiene services as set forth in Regulation .11 of this chapter.B.
