Section 10.44.04.23 - Emergency Response Plan for Administering Nitrous OxideA. A dentist that utilizes a dental hygienist to administer nitrous oxide shall have a medical emergency plan for the dental hygienist to follow in the event of an emergency.B. In the event of an emergency, the dental hygienist may turn off the nitrous oxide and administer 100 percent oxygen.C. In the event of an emergency the dental hygienist shall immediately summon the supervising dentist.Md. Code Regs. 10.44.04.23
