Section 10.44.04.09 - Board-Approved Course of Instruction for Local Anesthesia

The 28-hour Board-approved local anesthesia course of instruction outlined in Regulation .08A and B of this chapter shall include but not be limited to the following:

A. 20 hours of didactic training, including at least the following:

(1) The psychology of pain management;

(2) A review of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology of anesthetic agents;

(3) Emergency precautions and management;

(4) Patient management; and

(5) Instruction on the safe and effective administration of local anesthesia; and

B. 8 hours of clinical training, including the direct observation of the performance of procedures.
