Section 10.27.03.04 - Philosophy and Objectives, Outcomes, or CompetenciesA. The philosophy and program objectives, outcomes, or competencies shall be:(1) Developed by the nursing faculty and represent a consensus of that faculty;(2) Consistent with the characteristics of the specific type of nursing education program;(3) Communicated to those responsible for and participating in the program; and(4) Periodically evaluated.B. The philosophy of the program shall:(1) Be consistent with that of the controlling institution and governing body;(2) Articulate beliefs about individuals and their health, environment, nursing, adult education, and learning; and(3) Serve as a foundation for developing, implementing, and evaluating the educational program.C. The program objectives, outcomes, or competencies shall:(1) Evolve from the philosophy of the program;(2) Be clearly stated, measurable, and attainable;(3) Serve as a foundation for planning, implementing, and evaluating the program; and(4) Identify the expected competencies of the graduate.Md.
