Section 144-351-8-8 - HEARING RIGHTSA. The Department shall conduct the hearing according to rules adopted by the Commissioner. B. The purpose of the hearing is to determine the nature and extent of the responsible parent's child support obligation, if any, for the dependent child or children named in the Notice issued under Section 4. C. The responsible parent may present evidence and testimony, cross-examine witnesses and contest the evidence relied on by the Division. D. The responsible parent may represent himself or herself at the hearing or may be represented by an attorney or other person. E. In rendering a decision, the Department may only consider evidence that is part of the hearing record.10- 144 C.M.R. ch. 351, § 8-8
