Section 144-351-5-7 - ACTIONS ALLOWED Notwithstanding the provisions of this chapter, when a responsible parent is in receipt of public assistance for his or her natural or adopted children living in his or her home, or receives SSI, the Division may take action that does not constitute collection, including, but not limited to, the following:
A. Proceeding under Chapter 8 of this Manual to establish or amend a child support obligation B. Proceeding under 19-A M.R.S. §2352 to establish a responsible parent's obligation to pay past support C. Filing a lien under 19-A M.R.S. §2357D. Investigating and aiding in the prosecution of criminal nonsupportE. Reporting a debt to a consumer reporting agency under 10 M.R.S. §1329F. Establishing paternityG.
