For children receiving SSI disability benefits who would otherwise be ineligible for the C.C.S./C.S.H.N. Program and for children up to school age eligibility who have a medically eligible condition the C.C.S./C.S.H.N. Program will pre-authorize payment for:
adaptive equipment or adaptation of equipment such as but not limited to, therapy balls and bolsters which are not covered by Medicaid or other payment source, upon written request/or documentation of the child's medical condition and need for adaptive equipment from the treating subspecialty physician and therapist; and/or adaptive equipment with orthopedic and developmental implications (i.e., prone or supine standers and sidelyers) as prescribed by the child's treating orthopedist or physiatrist.NON-COVERED EQUIPMENT:vestibular stimulation equipment and augmentative communication equipment.
