It is the purpose of the Department of Environmental Protection (Department), consistent with legislative policy, to provide effective controls for the management of hazardous waste. Universal waste is a subset of hazardous waste. This Chapter provides for one of these controls by establishing certain standards which must be met by generators, and facilities managing universal waste.
