In order to ensure that the public health and safety are protected and to maintain high standards of public trust and confidence in the chiropractic profession, the following requirements must be met prior to using chiropractic acupuncture methods in chiropractic practice.
Each licensee who has provided chiropractic acupuncture methods prior to April 30, 1999, shall obtain a certificate from this Board, which shall verify that the licensee has complied with the provisions of the statute and will comply or has complied with the minimum standards contained within this rule. The application for this certificate shall be on a form provided by the Board.
Licensees who have provided chiropractic acupuncture methods with only one hundred (100) hours of training in Level I chiropractic acupuncture methods prior to April 30, 1999, must document having obtained the required one hundred (100) hours of training in Level II chiropractic acupuncture no later than two (2) years from the date of the adoption of these rules.
To maintain certification in chiropractic acupuncture methods, a licensee who holds current certification at the time of license renewal must certify to the Board during each biennium, that s/he has completed a minimum of twelve (12) hours of postgraduate chiropractic acupuncture training approved by the Board. Said hours may be applied toward satisfying the required continuing education requirements in Chapter 6(1)(A).
Any licensee who shall advertise or announce to the public in any communications or solicitation that s/he is a licensed acupuncturist shall be deemed to have engaged in false, misleading or deceptive advertising. Any licensee may advertise or announce to the public in any communication or solicitation that s/he engages in or provides chiropractic acupuncture, is certified in chiropractic acupuncture or is certified as a chiropractor to provide chiropractic acupuncture services.
