Section III-129 - Purpose TestA. Any sign meeting the following criteria shall be presumed to have been erected with the purpose of being read from the main traveled way of a controlled highway. Where a sign is read from the main traveled way of two or more highways, one or more of which is controlled, the more stringent of applicable control requirements will apply.B. Signs erected in such a manner as to be visible from either direction of travel on subject controlled highway.C. Signs whose lettering is 1 inch or more in height or width for each 50 feet in distance from the sign to the main traveled way of the subject controlled highway.D. Signs which can be readily viewed for a time of five seconds or more from the main traveled way of the subject controlled highway while traveling at the posted speed limit.La. Admin.
