Section III-5505 - Nonpublic School Early Childhood Development ProgramA. OFS shall enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Governor's Office, Office of Community Programs, to provide early childhood education to certain four-year-olds in non-public schools.B. These services meet TANF goal 3, to prevent and reduce the incidence of out-of-wedlock pregnancies and TANF goal 4, to encourage the formation and maintenance of two-parent families by placing children in learning environments at the pre-school level to foster an interest in learning, increase literacy levels, and increase the likelihood of developing responsible behavior.C. Eligibility for services is limited to families in which the child is one year younger than the eligible age for public school kindergarten and who have earned income at or below 200 percent of poverty level. A needy family consists of minor children residing with custodial parents, or caretaker relatives of minor children.D. Services are considered non-assistance by the agency.La. Admin.
