Section V-5071 - Automatic Low Water Fuel Cutoff and/or Water Feeding DeviceA. Each automatically fired steam boiler shall have an automatic low-water fuel cutoff so located as to automatically cut off the fuel supply when the surface of the water falls to the lowest visible part of the water gauge glass. If a water feeding device is installed, it shall be so constructed that the water inlet valve cannot feed water into the boiler through the float chamber and so located as to supply requisite feed water. Such a fuel cutoff or water feeding device shall comply with HG-606 of the ASME Code, Section IV.B. Each automatically fired hot water heating boiler with heat input greater than 400,000 BTU/hr shall have an automatic low-water fuel cutoff which has been designed for hot water service, and it shall be located as to automatically cut off the fuel supply when the surface of the water falls to the lowest safe water level established by the boiler manufacturer. Such low-water fuel cutoff shall comply with HG-614 of the ASME Code, Section IV.La. Admin. Code tit. 55, § V-5071
