Section XXIX-501 - Schedule II Narcotic Analgesic PrescriptionsA. Schedule II narcotic analgesic prescriptions covered under the Louisiana Medicaid Program shall be filled within 90 days of the date prescribed by a physician or other prescribing practitioner. Also, in accordance with guidance from the drug enforcement agency, the prescriber has the ability to issue multiple prescriptions for the same schedule II medication to the same patient on the same day. All prescriptions must be dated and signed on the date issued. The prescriber may issue dispensing instruction, e.g., "do not dispense until a specified date."La. Admin. Code tit. 50, § XXIX-501
