Section XXV-501 - PurposeA. These rules are adopted in accordance with the public interest of controlling health care costs and improving the quality of and access to health care. In that regard, the state has a responsibility to protect the public interest through direct supervision and control over the implementation of cooperative agreements, mergers, joint ventures, and consolidations among health care facilities for which certificates of public advantage are granted pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 40:2254.1 through 2254.12.La.
