Section XI-2701 - Establishment and PurposeA. Charity Hospital School of Nursing was established in 1894, through the cooperative efforts of the Board of Administrators Charity Hospital of New Orleans and the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul.B. The primary aim of the school is to provide education that is essential to persons who receive the diploma in nursing. The graduate is qualified to write the Louisiana State Board of Nursing licensing examination to become a registered nurse. Graduates are prepared to assume first level staff nurse positions in hospitals and similar community agencies.C.
