Section I-9251 - Direct Service Worker ResponsibilitiesA. The responsibilities of the direct service worker include, but are not limited to: 1. following the exact instructions of the RN in the performance of all authorized procedures;2. notifying the employer or the RN when the health status of the person receiving assistance changes so the RN can reassess to determine whether or not the procedures can still be performed by the direct service worker in a safe manner;3. notifying the employer or the registered nurse when the prescribed procedures or medications or dosages change so additional person-specific training can be conducted by the RN if applicable; and4. notifying the employer, the RN, and the person receiving assistance or services if a finding has been placed against him/her on the Direct Service Worker Registry.La.
