Section I-18709 - Hospital Destination/Stroke System TransportA. These rules are not intended to prevent any hospital or medical facility from providing medical care to any patient but rather to serve as a guideline to facilitate the timely and appropriate delivery of stroke patients to the most appropriate care site for the definitive treatment of stroke.B. Knowledge of statewide stroke capabilities and the use of a stroke pre-hospital destination protocol will enable providers to make timely decisions, promote appropriate utilization of the stroke care delivery system, and ultimately save lives.La.
