Section XLV-5709 - Unauthorized PracticesA. No person shall hold himself out to the public, any public educational institution, any athletic organization, or any individual student, amateur, or professional athlete as an "athletic trainer" or licensed athletic trainer in the state of Louisiana, nor identify or designate himself as such, nor use in connection with his name the letters, "AT," "LAT" or "ATC," or any other words, letters, abbreviations, insignia, or signs tending to indicate or imply that the person is a licensed athletic trainer, unless he is currently licensed by the board as a licensed athletic trainer.B. No person shall undertake to perform or actually perform, for compensation or other remuneration, the activities of an athletic trainer, as defined in this Chapter (§5705) unless he is currently licensed by the board as an athletic trainer.La.
