Section XLV-423 - Exemptions to Licensure; Emergency Transfer of PatientsA. In addition to the exemptions to licensure provided by R.S. 37:1291, a license to practice medicine shall not be required for a physician-member of a transport team providing emergency or other medical care to an acutely ill patient during transfer or transportation to or from a hospital in this state provided such physician is duly licensed to practice medicine by the medical licensing authority of another state.B. The exemption provided by Subsection A of this Section, shall also apply to any license, certificate or registration of any allied health care professional, which the board is authorized to issue, who is a member of a transport team providing emergency or other medical care to an acutely ill patient during transfer or transportation to or from a hospital in this state provided such allied health care practitioner is duly licensed to practice his profession by the medical licensing authority of another state.La.
